About Me
- Name: your WEDDING DIVA
- Location: Nashville, Tennessee, United States
I have been involved in the wedding industry for over 20 years as both a writer and designer. I am pretty bent about the way wedding vendors are being portrayed by some of the new media. I am also pretty appalled by the three-ring circus that some weddings have become. Why is it that the only weddings you see in the major magazines carry a price tag of over $250K. On what planet is a quarter of a million dollar wedding sane??? Yes, I like pretty and unique as much as the next person but, uhh...reality.folks.

It may not look like it, but this cake was a beast to assemble. Rather than a table, it was on a 4.5' tall column in the center of the dining area. All buttercream, and between the room temp and the bright sun thru the skylight, it had lost what ever chill it had upon arrival. The glass top on the column was not large enough to hold anything except the cake itself. It required 2 people to hold the sheetpan with the next layer and an 8'ladder for assembly. Because of the tiny time window given by the venue, this was all done with at least 40 wait staff and a floral crew of 8 buzzing back and forth around my ladder. Not to mention the 6 piece band warming up in the the same room. Wow, I could use a cocktail just remembering it!
